Houman Mortazavi (b. 1964, Tehran, Iran) is best known for his satirical works, including works that deal with immigration. His well-known "Project Misplaced" is based on the public life of a first generation Iranian immigrant who's attempts to establish a foothold in a new culture and society has led to his demise. It's the story of how displacement leads to misplacement, irrelevance or even absurdity. Houman Mortazavi's work has been featured internationally in over ten solo exhibitions and several group shows.
