Mohammad Piryaee Iranian, b. 1985

Overview
Mohammad Piryaee (born 1985, Qom, Iran) is a Tehran-based visual artist whose practice primarily involves paper-based media and sculptures. He holds a Master of Arts in Painting from Tehran University of Art (2010) and a Bachelor of Arts in Handicrafts from Kashan University (2007). Piryayee's drawings and printmaking often employ semi-abstract forms, subtly referencing genres such as still life, interior painting, and architectural monuments. Notably, these two-dimensional works possess a transformative quality, capable of transitioning into three-dimensional sculptures. Piryayee's sculptural works are often abstracted architectural forms, realized in materials like ceramic, scorched wood, and resin, and frequently allude to Persian and Islamic architectural traditions.
