Dastan+2 presents "Silver Orb". Curated by Ashkan Zahraei, the exhibition features works by Homa Delvaray, Taba Fajrak, Maryam Farshad, Shahryar Hatami, Mona Hosseinzadeh, Lahiji Carpets, Meghdad Lorpour, Farrokh Mahdavi, Bahman Mohammadi, Asal Peirovi, Elaheh Ramezani, Salé Sharifi, Ali Shayesteh, and Ojan Zargarbashi. The exhibition is further activated by an audiovisual installation by Arshia Lahiji and Arya Sattari, as well as an Ikebana installation by Mahkameh Afkhami.
Eschewing a traditional thematic framework, the curation prioritizes a distinct psychological setting over narrative cohesion.
Rooted in the human tendency to hyper-fixate on microscopic details as a response to compounded trauma, the spatial arrangement aims to recreate the involuntary suspension of time. By encouraging deep visual scrutiny, the exhibition invites viewers into a state where spatial and temporal boundaries quietly blur, leaving only the isolated objects of contemplation.
The structural concept of the exhibition functions as a metaphorical lattice upon which the fragmented details of reality are temporarily isolated from their temporal and material dependencies. As visitors navigate the space, they are prompted to anatomize the constituent parts of the works, observing how seemingly disparate textures, patterns, and forms adapt, superimpose, and ultimately forge a self-contained whole. "Silver Orb" is designed as an experiential trajectory; the quiet void constructed by this intense observation is eventually dismantled, allowing the individual pieces to dissolve into a unified spatial dialogue just as the viewer's perception snaps back to the velocity of the present moment.
