Manouchehri House in collaboration with Dastan is pleased to announce "Journey/Passage", a presentation by twelve artist at Manouchehri House Gallery. The exhibition will open on June 11, 2018 and continue until August 10. Works by Fereydoun Ave, Amin Akbari, Kaveh Irani, Ali Beheshti, Shokoufeh Khoramroodi, Mohammad Ramshe, Sharvin Shahrokh, Morteza Ghasemi Sheelsar, Ghasemi Brothers, Amir Kamand, Milad Mousavi, and Milad Nemati are featured in this exhibition.

The current exhibition has been designed based on the experience of traveling. To travel and to move through a path, both directly and figuratively, have significant connotations. Different aspects of this experience have been also discussed in arts and literature, metaphorically and symbolically. This exhibition presents journey and passage in the works of twelve artists.

Traveling is fundamental in Fereydoun Ave's small ink pieces, watercolors and collages, since he uses such techniques due to their simplicity and convenience when traveling. His themes frequently include studies on nature and its elements, bringing him to use of simple techniques for sublime discoveries. Kaveh Irani has moved many times during the past few years and this has put a significant influence on his work. The most important themes in his work include memory, Topophiila and plays on urban sign systems.

Ghassemi Brothers' primary inspiration come from their environment -the coastal city of Bandar Anzali. The three-dimensional piece presented in this exhibition concerns their excitement to paint their surroundings and make their interior environment even more similar to the aura of the coastal town. One of the pieces from Morteza Ghassemi's baths series invites the viewer to stop and engage in a meditative experience along the path. Shokoufeh Khoramroodi, Ali Beheshti and Mohammad Ramshe have used their personal experiences in the natural environment to create a similar experience for the viewer. Sharvin Shahrokh has focused his attention on his inner world of home and the avoidance of travel or movement have been major themes in his recent works. A triptych by Milad Nemati, two pieces by Milad Mousavi, a small work by Amir Kamand and a recent sculpture by Amin Akbar have been also featured in this exhibition.
