Aidin Xankeshipour | "Ta'm-Touma'ze (Pent-Up)": Dastan:Outside | V-Gallery
Solo Exhibition of Drawings, Paintings and a Video by Aidin Xankeshipour
Dastan is pleased to announce Aidin Xankeshipour’s solo exhibition “Ta'm-Touma'ze (Pent-Up)” at V-Gallery (A Dastan:Outside Project). The exhibition will be open for public viewing from January 12 through January 26, 2018. This is Aidin Xankeshipour’s third solo exhibition at Dastan. His previous exhibition, “Stranger” was hosted by Dastan’s Basement in February 2016. Aside from his curatorial projects in Dastan, his work has been previously featured in group exhibitions at Dastan as well as a Dastan:Outside Project at Sam Art (Tehran).
In his previous series, “Stranger”, Aidin Xankeshipour used his most beloved medium, drawing, to rearrange his basic subject matter. Moving forwards, he started a series of studies on those pieces, specifically the ink plants, using a transcendental approach that resulted in abstract drawings (first shown in Update 5.0 at V-Gallery in 2017). After a series of sketches, the artist, using more painterly material in larger scale, created what appeared as abstract landscapes that were subjectively reminiscent of his native land of Gilan.
