Solid Nature, a Dutch stone brand, and OMA, a high-profile architectural practice, have previously worked together on prestigious projects such as the Qatar National Library and Fondazione Prada. This year, Solid Nature's founder, David Mahyari, teamed up once again with OMA to create an immersive installation in an unconventional venue - the basement and gardens of a private residence in Brera. The installation takes visitors on a journey through rainbow-hued onyx steps, leading them into stone-clad rooms that evoke the feeling of being inside a mine. Monolithic blocks overhead showcase the material and invoke a sense of pressure, reminiscent of the journey of human dreams and the genesis of Solid Nature's patterned stones. The garden features sculptural seating by Bita Fayyazi in collaboration with Solid Nature and OMA, a tribune by landscape architects Studio Ossidiana for inspirational talks, and a sculpture by Ward Strootman.
"Beyond the Surface" promises to be a mine of exceptional design, bringing together the creative talents of Solid Nature, OMA, and renowned artists like Bita Fayyazi.
