Press release

Dastan is pleased to announce “Revelations: Prelude”, an installation of studies and one piece by Ojan Zargarbashi, at Electric Room. The show will be open to public view from January 5 to January 10, 2018. The presentation is a prelude to the artist’s exhibition at Dastan’s Basement later this year.
Ojan Zargarbashi writes on this presentation: “The current show acts as the beginning of my visual inquiries into time and the future —an inquiry that came to be as a result of my need to extend myself in time; a need to see what will come —what I (we) shall never see!
In this suspicious and unreliable path, I use the evidence at hand (although little) and whatever I have ever contemplated into. The further and deeper I look, the more I am misled, and what lies in front of me moves further —perhaps this is actually the path to gaining knowledge and finding answers. I am inspired by the past and the present, search in my wishes, and learn from what I am afraid of.
The main focus of this inquiry is the human being (self); and what will come to be around them. What they would acquire, what they would lose; but I shall even replace them somewhere.
To familiarize the viewer to the series’ process of making, I have presented a part of my studies along with one of the final pieces in this exhibition.”
