Parallel Circuit proudly announces “Transcendent Dimensions”, Yousha Bashir's latest solo exhibition, opening Friday, August 23rd, 2024, and on view through September 20th, 2024. The exhibition marks the artist’s 13th collaboration with Dastan following its group presentation at Booth C-2, Art Dubai 2024, and notably the duo presentation at Liste Art Fair Basel 2023.

The exhibition comprises works familiar to Yousha Bashir's followers (landscapes that thread the divide between the physical and the virtual), raised paintings (based on the artist's emblematic landscapes that give prominence to texture), and new paintings that seem to have sublated the pixelated landscapes of his earlier works.

Yousha Bashir's recent works explore multiple perspectives in the act of observation: that of a painter depicting a landscape, an observer watching the painter, and a further observer of this process. This concept, referred to as the "Third Space," explains the distinctive characteristics of his depictions, which reflect the mediated experiences through screens.

In "Transcendent Dimensions," Bashir introduces the "Infinite Horizons" series, diverging from his previous works like "Second Space/Third Space" and "Elevated Forms." While his earlier pieces focused on replicating computer-generated scenes, "Infinite Horizons" employs human technique and imperfect brushstrokes to contrast with the flawless output of AI-generated images, emphasizing the tension between human artistry and machine precision.
