Dastan is pleased to announce “Unsafe Zone/Domestic Production”, a presentation by Amin Akbari at Electric Room. The show, which will be open to public view from April 27 to May 2, 2018, is an elaborate installation of found objects, original pieces, sound and setting.
In this presentation, Amin Akbari has came out of his “Safety Zone” and presented a smaller project at Electric Room. The project has been done based on an impression of ‘domestic production’. Since most production entails the production of waste, the artist has created a new barrier for Electric Room with extended bin bags, putting his ‘domestic production’ behind it. The installation is a un/inter-connected network of communication-based experiences. The viewer can interpret these narrative links and their connections by encountering them. The artist, giving each of the links —or more properly, ‘nodes’— a title, has created a multi-layered experience for the viewer: The Greasy Scale, SoftLan, Father and Son, 168cm of Nokhod-Siah, Fate, The Multi-Plug of Hope/The Prongs of Doubt.
Amin Akbari (b. 1988, Bojnourd, Iran) is a graduate of graphic design. He worked in the field of design for some time before focusing his capacities towards visual arts in 2012. His work has been featured in four solo exhibitions (most recently “Newborn Artist and Chigil’s Candle”, Dastan’s Basement, December 2017) and more than ten group exhibitions.
