Dastan is pleased to announce “Télàré”, a presentation by Sadaf Hesamiyan at Electric Room. The show will be open to public view from February 2 to 7, 2018. The presentation consists of three pieces from Sadaf Hesamiyan’s most recent series of works, Télàré, which is a word in Boushehri dialect meaning ‘to carry’ or to ‘take with oneself’. The series of works is inspired by the artist’s childhood in her hometown of Boushehr in the south of Iran.
Describing the series, Sadaf Hesamiyan writes: “We remember the most distant memories and details of where we grew up, even the mood —the original city, which is more than just a point on the map, and acts like the floors, ceilings and walls of our identity. Télàré is the name of a series of works that refer to my hometown; a coastal city where my first cognitive experiences were formed and the link between each experience with the ‘place’ has been fixed in my head. Time goes by and the face of the city changes. Images remain intact, but I still seek that old appearance upon each visit.”
