In a recent video published on YouTube, Reuters reports on Dastan’s at Frieze New York 2023. The gallery, which had temporarily been closed for approximately 8 months, showcased works by five Iranian female artists at Frieze, aiming to highlight the social changes they have brought about. Among the featured pieces is "Listen" by photographer and visual artist Newsha Tavakolian, displaying silent videos of women singers whose voices are often censored in Iran. According to Hormoz Hematian, the founder of Dastan, the artists felt that the time was right to exhibit their works and convey their messages to a broader audience.
