The Financial Times, as part of its pre-event coverage of Frieze New York 2023, published a May 12, 2023 article on Dastan’s presentation at the prominent art fair. Titled “Female Iranian artists offer subtle subversion: Tehran gallery Dastan is showing quiet but uncompromising works at Frieze New York”, the article, penned by visual arts reporter Maya Jaggi, includes short interviews with the artists and Dastan founder Hormoz Hematian, as well as background on how the presentation was conceived. The article quotes conversations with Newsha Tavakolian, Farah Ossouli, and Bita Fayyazi.
