"Dogtooth", a group exhibition organaized by Megan Yuan (June 10 – July 10, 2022) is presented by Helena Anrather Gallery in New York. The exhibition features artwork by ten artists. Hoda Kashiha's "Smoky Day" was among those featured. The exhibition borrows its name from Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2009 film, in which the father of a Greek family maintains a web of lies in order to guard his family from society. Yuan believes that painting can also be dogged by accusations of falseness and, by pointing out its complicated relationship with the truth, makes it a natural way to tango with questions of doxa, escapism and lies.
