Illian Steinhauer writes for the New York Times on an "equally bewitching and bizzarre" show by Dastan's Mamali Shafahi. As a professional artist, Mamali wanted to know how much of his artistic proclivities are derived from his father. He asked his father, Reza, a retired professional wrestler, to start painting and drawing. Reza's creations on paper and canvas then became the subject of Mamali's reliefs and scupltures. "Looking at the two sets of work together, there's no feeling of comparison or competition -- only an intergenerational conversation", concludes the short review. Click here for more information.
