+2 and Nazar Publications are pleased to announce the launching of Nasser Bakhshi’s book titled “Black Box” accompanied by an installation of the artist’s works titled “Incomplete Dream”. The event will start on Wednesday, 26 May, 2021, and will continue until June 4th. The installation features six oil paintings on canvas alongside a three-dimensional work.
Dealing with the function of time and its relation to the formation of a split identity, “Incomplete Dream” delves into the concept of desire. Using a dualistic point of view, the installation portrays how desire —supposedly rooted in intrinsic needs of a subject— changes function and form upon realization. The installation also goes on to question the role that “human will” plays in accepting the present and what is yet to come, claiming it to be an essential element in the formation of an individual’s awareness.
