TEHRAN – November 24, 2015. Dastan’s Basement is pleased to invite you to the opening of Samira Eskandarfar’s solo exhibition entitled “The Show Must Go On” on November 27. The exhibition will be open for public viewing through December 12. This is Samira Eskandarfar’s first solo exhibition in Dastan’s Basement. Her work has been featured in eighteen solo and over eighty group exhibitions.
Samira Eskandarfar started working on “The Show Must Go On” in 2013 while working simultaneously on another series entitled “I am Not Me” which was exhibited in the same year in Aran Art Gallery in Tehran. The larger works of “The Show Must Go On” have been produced in 2013, and after a two-year break, the artist revisited the series in 2015 to work on the smaller paintings. Samira believes that these works while being “a continuation of her drawings”, have reached “an independent existence”.
