Sogol Kashani | "Inconsolable": Dastan's Basement
A solo painting exhibition of works by Sogol Kashani
TEHRAN – December 30, 2015. Dastan’s Basement is pleased to invite you to the opening of Sogol Kashani’s solo exhibition “Inconsolable” on January 1, 2016. The exhibition will be open for public viewing through January 7, 2016. This is Sogol Kashani’s first solo exhibition in Dastan’s Basement. She was a co-curator of “Final Encore II”, an installation project displayed in Dastan’s Basement in 2013.
Work on this series started in February 2014 when rhinoceroses appeared in Sogol Kashani’s studies in motif and form. It was through these animals that she found the missing link between her more abstract ideas and forms, and her human environment. “Rhinos are like symbols for our own hardening… after going through everything that happens around us, many of us turn into calm creatures with hard skins, just like rhinos.”
