Iman Raad's artwork on the cover of "No Gods But Us"

Dastan is honored to announce that artwork of our esteemed artist Iman Raad will be on the cover of the book "No Gods But US" by Bobuq Sayed, releasing on May 26. 2026. The writer explains what he wanted the cover to look like and why he chose Raad's pieces: "There were some cliches I wanted to avoid, like old-world representations of Islam — steam swirling off a teacup, the stark minaret, mosaics, or prayer mats — which are sort of banal where they aren’t actively Orientalist. Instead, I wanted the cover to draw upon maximalist aesthetics that catch the eye and also overwhelm it."
