The Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg (Florida) will soon present "In Caravaggio’s Light: Baroque Masterpieces from the Fondazione Roberto Longhi", featuring 40 paintings by the Caravaggisti alongside two original works by Caravaggio.
Drawn from the holdings of the Fondazione Roberto Longhi — an institute founded in 1970 by Italian art historian Roberto Longhi (1889–1970) — the exhibition will be accompanied by “Baroque Continuum”. As noted by Artnet writer Sarah Cascone, this parallel show illustrates how Caravaggio’s influence has endured across the centuries to the present time. Organized by Stanton Thomas, Chief Curator of the MFA St. Petersburg, the exhibition "Baroque Continuum" will also feature three works by Dastan’s artist Reza Aramesh.
