Newsha Tavakolian penned a poignant piece for MagnumPhotos.com in which she combs through her memories of "the other war" Iran was subjected to in the 1980s, the longest war of the century. The 12-day belligerence by Israeli forces (June 15-23, 2025) occasions a set of recollections and observations by the Magnum photographer and Dastan artist.
Accompanied by photographs from family albums, "Dispatch from Tehran" summons feelings of despair visiting a people under missile attack.
