At Cromwell Place, London, Bavan Gallery hosts a show titled "Event: Iranian Contemporary Art and Shifting Realities,” curated by Takin Aghdashloo.
The exhibition, opening on 19 October 2023, features works by some of Dastan’s artists, including Nicky Nodjoumi, Farah Ossouli, and Ali Akbar Sadeghi. The show will be on view until 30 October 2023.
The exhibition text discusses the concept of an "Event" in the philosophy of Alain Badiou, emphasizing its role in introducing something new and transformative into a situation by disrupting existing norms.
