Maryam Ayeen (b. 1985, Bojnurd) and Abbas Shahsavar (b. 1983, Kermanshah) are contemporary Iranian artists recognized for their collaborative work in miniature painting. Working together since 2009, they blend traditional Iranian miniature techniques with modern themes. Ayeen, holding a BA in painting from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, explores identity, memory, and the human condition through intricate details and vibrant colors. Shahsavar earned a BA from Ferdowsi University and an MA from the University of Art in Tehran, receiving awards including first prize at the 9th Biennale of Iranian Painting (2014). His work fuses classical miniature methods with contemporary subjects, addressing social dynamics and personal narratives. Their joint practice creates a distinctive body of work that bridges tradition and modernity, depicting everyday life with symbolic imagery and contemporary perspectives, earning acclaim in both national and international exhibitions.
