Seroj Barseghian | "Coloured Waves": +2
A solo presentation of works by Seroj Barseghian at +2.
+2 is pleased to present a selection of works by Seroj Barseghian titled “Coloured Waves”. The exhibition will open on Friday, 6 Aug, 2021, and will be on display for public viewing until September 3.
Seroj Barseghian (b. 1953, Isfahan, Iran) is a painter and an art instructor. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tehran and has been working and teaching in Tehran. The presented body of works is a continuation of his last two solo shows at Atbin and Dastan galleries. This show is the fruit of his studies on the physics of colors and waves, which have occupied him since 2003. His multifaceted career, working with colors and image in the textile and design industries, alongside his métier as a painter, has equipped him with a structured and systematic mind. His practice as a painter is also akin to research and study. In his recent works, Barseghian is after a new visual element, one that he finds basic. He sees a wavy strip of colors made from the visual function of surface, line and movement as a powerful element in creating images. Barseghian states that this new element can become an effective ground for human imagination to take wing.
