Ali Akbar Sadeghi (b. 1937, Tehran) is a seminal Iranian artist known for his multidisciplinary contributions and innovative visual language. A graduate of the University of Tehran’s Fine Art Faculty, he blended traditional Iranian painting with modern art, influencing generations of artists. Beginning as an illustrator, he worked for news-papers, designed movie posters, created stained-glass murals, co-founded the Film and Animation Department at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, and produced award-winning illustrations and animations. Since 1977, he has focused on painting, producing large-scale, detailed, and colorful works inspired by Qahveh-Khanh paintings, Iranian miniatures, and Western surrealism, combining storytelling, tradition, and contemporary themes in dreamlike narratives.
