Maryam Ayeen & Abbas Shahsavar Iran, b. 1985 | 1983
Overview
Maryam Ayeen and Abbas Shahsavar are an Iranian artist duo whose collaborative practice is rooted in the visual language of Persian miniature painting. While their technical approach draws on the delicate brushwork and compositional refinement of traditional book arts, their subject matter is distinctly contemporary—ranging from scenes of middle-class life and domestic interiors to psychological, social, and political tensions embedded within private experience.
