Iranian art and artists have enjoyed wide recognition and coverage over the past decade. Nevertheless, only limited aspects of Iran’s plethora of contemporary art have been thoroughly explored. With a dedication to exhibiting artworks by emerging Iranian artists and experimental projects by established artists, Dastan seeks to open new perspectives into fresh contexts and practices in contemporary Iranian art.
This year in Art Dubai 2016, Dastan has based its theme on the current historic changes in the rhetoric between Iran and the West, showcasing artworks by young artists such as Mohammad-Hossein Gholamzadeh and Amin Montazeri whose work was also shown last year, along with a number of other emerging artists including Mamali Shafahi, Nima Zaare Nahandi, Peybak, Bahareh Nawabi, and established artists such as Fereydoun Ave and Farah Ossouli.
