Sina Ghadaksaz Iranian, b. 1992

Overview

Sina Ghadaksaz (b. 1992, Tabriz, Iran) is a multimedia artist based in Tabriz, Iran. He studied Multimedia Arts at Tabriz University before completing his MFA in Art Studies at Tabriz University in 2018.

Sina Ghadaksaz's artistic practice can be divided into two connected parts: Theory and Practice. The first part includes his activities and projects as an art ethnographer and the second part, which as he believes is the main part, includes the process of painting. Ghadaksaz’s paintings are associated to his anthropological knowledge and he tries to continue his theoretical approaches in them, not with a conceptual form of art but simply by action of painting and making images.

Sina Ghadaksaz's solo exhibitions include “In basement: A spectacle” (Dastan’s Basement, Tehran, 2020); “Sugar in the Basement”, (Dastan’s Basement, Tehran, 2022). Select group exhibitions are “Time Shift” (Jorjani art gallery, Tehran, 2017); "6th Damounfar Painting Biennale", (Pardisi Azadi Gallery, Tehran, 2017); “A Timeless Journey in Landscape” (Fereshteh Art Gallery, Tehran, 2018); “A close view of far field representation” (Sanati Contemporary Art Museum, Kerman, 2019); Art021 (Shanghai, 2021). His works have been published in “Imago Mundi”, Luciano Benetton collection of Iranian artists (2013) and in Mundial Magazine (2014) and FIFA World Cup (Brazil, June and July 2014).
